IATROGENIC - IATROGENIZED

Iatrogenic

Above is the published account of the words I found on the Internet written in 1962.

My use of the word is based on how it was being published back when this article was written. This author was so close to getting it right, that he probably tripped on his own shoelaces after he stood up and stepped away from the chair he was sitting in, after writing it down or typing it out to go publish.

My own interpretation or thoughts of 'iatrogenic' after revisiting this article is the fact that it means both, everybody had it right, but the author was too close to the task at hand to notice the obvious connection between the two meanings.

Doesn't it make sense that if a patient, thru his or her own due diligence makes the correct diagnosis before the doctor(s) treating him or her, become a healer of sort themself by proxy? Meaning, that the individual who recognizes that their medical care, for ONE (iatrogenic); does nothing, or somehow makes the situation worse, and TWO (iatrogenized); the individuals care takers can't reasonably deny or even better, own up to the correction and agree to the individuals own diagnosis or treatment as he or she identifies it and has proven it to be. In turn, making this scenario sound as negligent as the word itself.

Again, this is my understanding of these words writen out, whereas, indirectly causing myself to have a greater understanding in what the heck it is, I'm trying to say at the end of the day :-]
